What Affects Window Replacement Cost
Two houses with the same number of windows can end up with very different estimates. These are the things that move the number, so you know what to ask about when you compare.
The Factors
- Number of openings: more windows, more units, more trim
- Size and style: a large picture window, a bay, a garden window, and a patio door are not the same job as a standard double-hung
- Frame material: vinyl and wood are different products with different finishing
- Brand and line: Pella, ProVia, and Polaris each have different options on the showroom floor
- Glass and hardware choices
- Interior trim and finish: we can finish interior trim in our paint booth, and that is part of the work
- Exterior detailing: trim, flashing, and any siding that has to change around the opening
- Replacement or new construction: working in an existing wall is different from framing a new opening
- Whether it is one job: windows with doors, siding, or gutters can share a schedule and a crew
Why We Measure First
Every opening is different, so the honest answer comes from measuring at the house. Sean runs estimates in person, and you can see the units in the showroom before anyone orders them.
When you compare estimates, compare what is included: which line, which glass, who finishes the inside and the outside, and what happens to the wall around the window.
Questions
Do You Give Estimates Over The Phone?
We start with a call or the form, then Sean measures at the house or you come to the showroom. Every opening is different.
Is The Estimate Free?
Yes. Free estimates, at the house or at the showroom.
